Wedding Planning and Etiquette

Having been exclusively in the retail weddding business for several years prior to going on the internet with Dyeable Shoe Company I decided to devote a page on the Dyebale Shoe Company's web site for the Bride-To-Be with planning and proper etiquette, I welcome your comments. - Elliott Fishbein.

The Very Beginning

I suggest that the future bride and groom announce their engagement to their parents first. If at all possible do it in person and together.

After you have told your parents then announce it to your close friends.

The future bride and groom can announce their engagement in the local newspaper where they grew up and where they are living at the present time.

As soon as possible it is nice for the two sets of parents to become acquainted. The grooms parents should be the ones to set up the meeting, but in todays day and age that does not necessarily have to be. The bride and groom can also set up a meeting of the parents at a restaurant or if they are already living together (which today is very common) at their apartment.

Set the wedding date.

Check on the different places that are available for your wedding and reception, and make a selection.

By setting a budget you will then be able to determine the number of guests you would like to invite.

Be in touch with different officiants and then make a selection as to who you would like to conduct the ceremony.

The next thing you should do in the beginning stage of your planning is to choose your maid of honor, best man, bridesmaids, and ushers.

With the above accomplished you are now ready to start shopping for your wedding gown.
